Hello and welcome! My name is Regan and I am a New England native living in Central Massachusetts with my husband, two sons, and two cats. I am originally from Southeastern Connecticut and my husband is from The Berkshires.
While we have two very different New England perspectives, coastal and mountain, we both have the same love of the entire region that it took living in Colorado for six years to find again.
Let me explain . . .
In late July 2012, about a year and a half after my youngest son was born, we packed up and moved out to Denver, Colorado. Living in New England all of our lives, we were bored and wanted a change of scenery.
The first few years in Colorado were great! We were having fun sightseeing and enjoying the new scenery, but after four or five years, we were starting to feel homesick. We found that the things we missed about New England were starting to pile up, and after six years (almost to the day), we packed up our lives and moved back home to New England.
Without a job for my husband and only relying on income from the sale of our house and what I made blogging over at my original blog, we put our house on the market and threw caution to the wind. Luckily, after two years of looking for a job in New England and our house going under contract, my husband was offered a position in Massachusetts just in time. Almost as if it was all meant to be.
That was at the end of July and I am so happy to be back. Really, I am seriously giddy and everything feels right in my world again. The landscape is right, the food is right, the activities are right, and almost most importantly, Autumn is right.
So this blog that I have been planning for over a year is now a reality and I couldn’t be more excited to get it off the ground and running. I look forward to becoming a local tourist and sharing all of the awesomeness that is life in Southern New England. Things to do, places to go, our unique way of life, the food, and everything in between in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
New England is home.
